Miley Cyrus had so much fun last night as the VMAs host, y’all! Well, other than getting called out by Nicki Minaj, which I still don’t think was part of the rehearsed program. Miley wanted all the attention, and she got it by getting her girls out. Miley changed clothes several times during her hosting gig, but she wore this custom Versace dress on the red carpet. What do you think? The space-age concept is pretty cool, and it’s not much of a dress, more like suspenders on the top and a NSFW, chain-mail bottom. This ensemble is pure Miley, for better or worse. She has the body to get away with such getups, and she’s enjoying herself, which says a lot. I like the funky ponytail, even though it’s all extensions, and she’s glowing.
Justin Bieber surprised a lot of people last night because he broke down in tears during his performance. His look here is head-to-toe Saint Laurent, allegedly, but those jeans can’t be part of the deal. Or maybe they are Saint Laurent too. Justin actually looks healthy, happy, and a little bit handsome. Shhh.
Stella Maxwell, Miley’s rumored girlfriend, wore a Moschino (by Jeremy Scott) gown to the event. Yep, they’re together if Stella showed up, and this is one of Miley’s favorite designers. This dress is nice for the occasion, though the “spray paint” motif by Moschino is getting tired.
Demi Lovato wore a tight pink Nicolas Jebran dress. Her style is always so 1990s, and she’s not having fun at all. This dress is okay, though it seems suited for someone several years older.
Vanessa Hudgens wore a floaty, ethereal Naeem Khan dress. I really did like this dress, and it would have looked lovely on any other occasion, but it doesn’t fit the MTV vibe. She looks like she’s at a music festival, but then again, that’s usually where we see Vanessa.
