New Mexicos Historic Totah Theatre Reopens

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The historic Totah Theatre in Farmington, New Mexico, reopened its doors to the public with a New Year’s Eve celebration.

Formerly an intimate movie theater that closed in 1982, Bev and Tom Taylor purchased the vacant landmark and renovated it into a 288-capacity live music venue.

Travis Ledoyt, “The World’s Best Young Elvis,” performed at the New Year’s celebration, drawing in the crowds anxious to see the theater they visited years ago.

The theater first opened in 1948 and closed in 1982. It was used briefly in the 1990s as the home to the San Juan Stage Co., a drama troupe no longer in existence, according to the Farmington Daily Times.

Dona Brown, the executive director of The Totah Theater, can be reached at 505-325-9122 or by email at dona@totahtheatre.org. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
